Concession, Antidote to Ending Russian-Ukrainian War – Don
A lecturer of International Relations and Communication at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, Dr. Kolawole Amos, has called for reasonable concession, between Russia and Ukraine, to put an end to the ongoing war ravaging both countries, adding that the way forward is to engage in peace talks, to achieve a ceasefire. Dr. Amos gave this charge while featuring on the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State radio station, FUNAAB Radio 89.5FM live interactive programme, Boiling Point. According to him, the implication of the war would be enormous, adding that Russia was responsible for about 40% of liquefied natural gas exported to other countries in Europe, noting that anything that had to do with oil and gas would have serious implications on the world economy.
“Russia is seeing Ukraine as a threat because of the way she is opening up her economy by practicing an open government, and they see them as a neighbour that can allow the enemy to penetrate their country, saying they would have started blaming themselves now with the support Ukraine is getting”, he added. The don emphasised that the way forward was for the whole world to keep condemning the Russian action, stressing that the media was already helping in that aspect by showing to the world how allegedly callous the Russian government had been with a caution that it was wrong for a government to claim morality while prosecuting a war.
