An assurance has been given that the hosting of the 78th Inaugural Lecture of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, would be hitch-free. The Chairman, Ceremonials Committee (CERECOM), Prof. Adegoke Bakare and the 78th Inaugural Lecturer of the University, Prof. Enock Dare, stated this while featuring on FUNAAB Radio 89.5FM live interactive programme, Boiling Point. The lecture titled: ‘Nanotechnology: The Size-Powered Harbinger of the 21st Century Technological revolution’, comes up on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building of the University, beginning from 2pm, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Kehinde.
Prof. Bakare, who explained that necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a successful outing, urged all attendees to come early, listen and learn, saying that the opportunity to showcase the lecture is a privilege. On his part, Prof. Dare stressed that Nanotechnology “is expected to revolutionalise all aspects of human endeavours including agriculture”, adding that Nanotechnology “is one of the great things that the world is looking up to”. The don, who is of the Department of Chemistry, College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), alleged that the world had been corrupted, arguing that criminality of all kinds has rented the air, but with the deployment of Nanotechnology, the menace would be reduced to the barest minimum, if not totally eradicated. Prof. Dare, however, stressed that for Nigerians, the benefit of Nanotechnology was enormous, noting that progress had been made in all areas where Nanotechnology had been used.
