FUNAAB matriculates 4,324 students
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State has matriculated a total number of 4,324 students. This piece of information was given by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olusola Kehinde, while delivering his address at the 2023/2024 Matriculation Ceremony and the 11th Commencement Lecture of the institution.
“The University has zero tolerance for anti-social behaviours and indecent dressing. Sanctions such as expulsion, rustication/suspension can be meted out to any defaulting student. It is compulsory that students meet the 70% of class attendance to qualify for examination while a student who does not register for a session earns withdrawal from the University”, he said. Giving the breakdown, according to him, a total number of 483 students were admitted into the College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD), 712 students were admitted into the College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), a total number of 374 students were admitted into the College of BioSciences (COLBIOS), and 210 students were admitted into the College Entrepreneurial and Development Studies (COLENDS).
“Others include 365 students admitted into the College of Engineering (COLENG), 483 students admitted into the College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM), 336 students admitted into the College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), 678 students were offered admission into the College of Physical science (COLPHYS), 590 students were admitted into the College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT) while a total number of 93 students were offered admission into the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET)”, he said. Prof. Kehinde reiterated that FUNAAB is committed to its vision and mission of producing graduates that are adequately equipped to handle contemporary challenges through cutting edge research for development in agriculture and science that is driven by information and communication technology.
