The Chaplain of the Chapel of Grace, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Christian Ikeobi, has stressed the need for the management, staff and students of the University to be thankful to God. He gave this charge while delivering his sermon at the Interdenominational Church Service, held at the Chapel Auditorium, in FUNAAB, as part of activities marking the 31st Convocation Ceremony of the University. Prof. Ikeobi, who is the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), said with the University being ranked as the best University of Agriculture in Africa, the institution has evolved to getting to a higher level, stressing that from humble beginnings, FUNAAB had become a phenomenon.
The cleric urged staff members, students, and the University community at large to join hands with the management and collaborate to move the institution forward, with the assurance that FUNAAB was ready for new frontiers. In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Olusola Kehinde, said the message was apt and fitting, as the University is celebrating its 31st Convocation Ceremony, while acknowledging all members of staff for putting in their best, and also appreciating the students for promoting peace within and outside the campus. Prof. Kehinde, however, noted that FUNAAB was established for teaching, research and extension services, saying the University had rededicated itself to the teaching of students, as he revealed that in terms of community engagements, different non-governmental organisations had been coming to partner with FUNAAB, with a promise that the management would not relent in its drive to move the University forward.
