FUNAAB VC commends alumni for renovating varsity library
The Professor Olusola Kehinde-led management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State has expressed the institution’s heart-felt gratitude for the face-lift made to the University Library by some alumni of the institution. The appreciation was given during the presentation of award plaques to the recipients at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room.
The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kolawole Adebayo, maintained that the ‘Nimbe Adedipe Library is the Centre Structure of the University and it is significant that they have chosen the project, adding that “it is a source of relief for the University, as its primary source of income are minimal and the secondary (ones) are controlled”. He said they are looking for more relationship with them (alumni) in the advancement of the University, adding that they (management) rejoices whenever the University’s products give back to their alma mater. The Vice-Chancellor, however, solicited for more support from FUNAAB alumni to take the institution to enviable heights.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Christian Ikeobi thanked the donors for the wonderful endowment while stressing that the University “now have technology-driven library and students are making use of it optimally”. The University Librarian, Dr. Owolabi Kehinde also appreciated the alumni for showing good example by giving back to the system. Appreciating the alumni, awards were presented to Mr. Oluseun Onigbinde, Director BudgIT; Mr. Steve Okeleleji, Managing Director, Aquatic Hub Afrique Network; Mr. Adeniyi Agunloye, Lead Partner, Oxlade Consulting; and Mrs. Oluwaseun Onigbinde, as the awardees equally appreciated the University management for the awards, as they pledged their continuous support for FUNAAB.
