At convocation, FUNAAB VC tasks staff on unity, peace
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, Prof. Olusola Kehinde, has charged members of the University community to continue to work together in unity for the progress of the institution. Prof. Kehinde gave the charge during a Jumat service, held at the University Mosque, as part of activities marking the 30th convocation ceremony of FUNAAB. The Vice-Chancellor also urged them to continue to do things that would bring peace, justice, and progress to the institution while stressing that every member of the University community has a stake in its development.
He added that the University Management would continue to provide equitable justice by doing things “that will promote equity, peace and justice as well as running an inclusive administration where everybody’s ideas matter”. Prof. Kehinde, however, said God had helped everyone, especially the graduating students because they are special students, having spent two years in their final years as a result of strike embarked upon by university staff unions, last year. He, therefore, thanked all staff members for their immense contributions to the advancement of FUNAAB, even as he prayed God to see them through in all their endeavours.
Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of FUNAAB community, Prof. Idris Ayinde, during his sermon, said the Muslim community felicitates with the Vice-Chancellor, even as he congratulated the students, stating that Allah had spared their lives to witness the 30th convocation ceremony. He prayed for continuous peace in the University and that the University Management would succeed beyond expectations, stressing that as they had started on a good note, and that by the time they would be leaving office, they would look back and have reasons to thank Allah while Imam Isaq Ajisegiri thanked the University Management for its generosity.
